Goodbye, thank you and welcome!

12/2/2021

Our very wonderful Treasurer, Maurice Matthews, has decided that the time has come to spend more time on his boat in Blakeney Harbour and less time battling with the banks and other financial responsibilities for us. We are very grateful for the time, passion and efforts he has made on behalf of the Hall - particularly in the last 18 months - and we are looking forward to raising a glass to him in the near future. Thank you, Maurice.
We are lucky to have found a new Treasurer and Paul Bailey has agreed to take on the task. He joins two new Trustees, Wendy Keesom and Kevin Howard, and we are so pleased that they have all agreed to come and help the Hall. Welcome, Paul, Wendy and Kevin.
The contacts page of the website has been updated.

Goalposts and Rubbish

7/13/2021

We've got a couple of goalposts that are looking for a new home. Contact Liz if you'd like them.

Also : we've had a spate of rubbish being dumped by the recycling bins. You may have seen me ranting about it on the facebook page. Anyway, there are new signs on the bottle and clothes banks. It's just revolting and illegal.

WE ARE ALMOST THERE!

5/10/2021

It looks like the day may be finally upon us - hopefully only a few more weeks to go. The Hall is currently taking bookings from the end of June - and the calendar is now open so do call. You will see that we already have a lot of of weddings planned! How brilliant will this be?

SNOW AND THE BIN COLLECTION

2/15/2021

The Parish Council have had a notification from the District Council saying that because the weather was so inclement last week and the roads a tad slippery, the black bin collection didn't happen and there won't be a catch up pick up this week. They will accept a reasonable amount of extra black bin waste when they do that pick up next week.

New Year, New Scams

1/6/2021

We haven't written much on this part of the website recently as pretty much all the information we have is on the dedicated Coronavirus page which gets regularly updated (and the Hall is closed for the foreseeable).
But there has been a recent development regarding phone and email scams and this one is about the Covid-19 vaccine. There is a text message going round telling the recipient that they are eligible for the vaccine and then asking for bank details in order to "verify your address". This is NOT from the NHS and should be disregarded. The vaccine is free. The NHS (like HMRC, DVLA and a host of other government organisations NEVER ask for bank details).
Often in scams there is a spelling or grammar error (there is on this one) and if it is an email scam, while it may look official if you check on the sender's address it is either a hijacked personal email address or very fake looking. If you are still in doubt, try and call the organisation but DO NOT phone the number on the text from your mobile if you got a text, reply directly to the email or click on any link given in the text/email. Use a landline if you have one or come out of your email account and separately go via google to the official website.
Hey ho, Happy New Year. See you on the other side....

The Mobile Library returns!

10/8/2020

The mobile library is coming back starting on Friday 16th October.

It arrives at about 10.10am, parks next to the phone box on Front Street and departs at 10.30am and will do so every every four weeks on a Friday.

Books are quarantined for 72 hours after return. Masks should be worn, one at a time or a family of up to three. Hand sanitising on entry and leaving. Names and telephone numbers to be left for Track and Trace.

All being well it will next be in Binham (same time, same place) on 13th November, 11th December, 8th January 2021, 5 February 2021. Keep your eyes open for signs in the village

The Rule of 6 Village Show 26.09.20

9/16/2020

The Village Show is going ahead in a Rule of 6 way!

Drop your entries at the Hall between 10am and 12 noon..

There will be someone there to show you where to put them so we can only allow 5 more people in at any one time (bear with us if you have to queue for a few minutes).

The Hall will be closed for judging until 2pm so come after that if you'd like to view the entries (again, 5 people at a time) and then entries can be picked up after that.

Entries are 50p for children and £1 for adults. Let's do this!
