Our wonderful chairman, Andrew Cuthbert, drew this pen and ink portrait of the Hall for our new Lynx advert. Isn't it brilliant?
...the theatre critic who went to review a show, only to walk out half way through? He (it was probably a he) filed his copy and went to have a delicious and possibly rather boozy supper. Unfortunately, when he woke up in the morning he learned that the theatre had burned down but his review, slating the show, was already printed. There was a bit of a fuss.
In the past two editions of our lovely local Lynx, I have managed to do a similar thing although nothing got burned down (!). In the first I said how wonderful the cookery demo had been and in the second I said how brilliant the panto was. At the last minute both these lovely occasions had to be cancelled but the Lynx had already gone to print. I'm so sorry. It was a daft thing to do - am still a learner with the Lynx copy deadlines - and I hope very much that I won't do it again! |
