After 40 phenomenal years of helping at the Hall, being a Trustee of the Hall and running the 100 Club, we are sad that June has decided that she is looking for a new challenge (!) and has retired as a Trustee.
June has been involved in both incarnations of the Hall - from where it started opposite Abbey Farm through to the planning, building and opening of the new Memorial Hall on it's current site opposite the Priory. She has run the 100 Club with panache and determination - woe betide if you failed to get your subs to her in suitable time! - and runs the raffles and tombolas at the Fete and other fund raising events with a smile and a keen eye on people trying to slip past without purchasing a ticket. We are all so grateful to June and thank her very much for all her very hard work over what is astonishingly four decades. We are sad also to report that Richard Lewis, previous Treasurer of the Hall, has sadly died. At the AGM on 30 May we paid tribute to Richard with a minute's silence. Slightly more cheerily, we are very pleased to welcome Anne Hooper as a new Trustee and are delighted that she has agreed to join our merry band. There are now wonderful maps up opposite Trevor's shop and on the roads into Binham with further details and everyone should have had a leaflet dropped through their doors.
A couple of updates : Due to unforeseen circs, the proposed bonfire lighting on Thursday 2nd June has been cancelled. AND Don't forget to decorate your front gardens and come to some of the things the village has planned! The Parish Council have sent us the following links to the plans for the Jubilee weekend so do click on them to see what's happening. It's going to be amazing!
